Has It Really Been Three Months...

My little baby is three months old.

That went by fast. At least she smiles at me now so I know she actually likes me.

How long until her and her monster siblings move out  ;  )

Welcome Home!

Jillian Harper
Born on November 10, 2011
7 lbs 1 oz.

Here she is, the new addition to our family.

So far she has been a wonderful baby- especially compared to her brother and sister who I swear fight with each other just to drive me crazy. Speaking of the little monsters, they adore their new little sister and give her kisses whenever they get a chance.

And can I just say that as a wife and mother, seeing my husband holding our newborn daughter makes me fall in love with him all over again.

Snuggle Time...

I almost crapped my pants yesterday morning when I went into the family room to find my kids snuggling together on the couch watching television. They weren't fighting- they were just nicely sitting together.

Amazing- until they started fighting about ten seconds later. Then the magical moment was over and life was back to normal.

Popcorn Time!

We got our new popcorn popper in the mail the other day and yesterday we made some popcorn with it.

My kids thought it was the greatest thing ever. They had a hard time believing that the kernels I bought were popcorn but when the popping started you should have seen their faces! The look of excitement and amazement on their faces just made my husband and I laugh- it is so funny to see such a simple thing as popcorn popping making your children as giddy and they get on Christmas morning.

The popcorn came out good and the kids loved it even though it was completely plain (we did add a little oil to pop it). A cheap, healthy and awe inspiring snack for the kids sounds good to me!

First Day of School (thank you god!)

Yesterday was my son's first day of preschool. Last year he went two afternoons a week and this year he is going three mornings a week.

I was so relieved to drop him off because lately my kids have been fighting about everything and it is nice to have a break from the yelling. For three mornings a week it will just be my daughter and I having mommy daughter time and three afternoons a week it will be just my son and I having mommy son time while my daughter takes her nap. Kids together equals chaos and a huge headache for mommy; kids apart equals less chaos and mommy not wanting to run away with the circus.

I am most definitely not just sending my son to school for selfish reasons (if that were the case I would have sent him all day every day). He really enjoys going and being around all of his friends. Plus, he gets to do all sorts of things that I don't have time to do with him at home.

So here is to a good school year and somewhat keeping what little sanity I have left.

Another Birthday, Another Cake...

My little princess turned two this weekend and she really, really wanted a Buzz Lightyear cake so like the sucker good mom I am I labored all night to make her this cake. She absolutely loved it and gave me a big hug and said "thank you mommy" when she saw it. Awww, I'll try to remember her being so sweet when she is throwing her next monumental tantrum.

Here is the birthday girl, my little fashionista. As you can tell I like to vicariously live through her when it comes to dressing cute.

This is my son trying to be cute- why is it that whenever I tell him to smile for the camera he has to pose like a weirdo?

MMMMM, cake.

And So It Starts...

Ever since I became pregnant with my now almost four year old son my husband could not wait to buy him a dirt bike. My husband loves dirt bikes and rode them as a child so of course any child of ours would be thrust into the world of dirt bike riding.

The day came way sooner than I thought because last night my son rode his dirt bike for the first time. How happy was my husband when he discovered dirt bike training wheels.

It really was so cute seeing my son ride around the house like a little motocross rider and my husband running (and huffing and puffing) next to him. Tyler did really good and just needs to get down using the brake really well.

Not to be left behind, my daughter hopped on her Barbie four wheeler and rode around the house too. Granted, it was way slower than a dirt bike but she didn't seem to mind. I can already tell that my little princess is going to want to ride dirt bikes too. I guess she'll be a tom boy like her mommy which is fine as long as she continues to let me dress her cute!
