Saturday Shopping- Tight Budget

I'm back to posting my shopping trips.

This week was a really hard one- my budget is super tight and I was seriously contemplating buying meat with antibiotics in it because it was cheaper, but then I just couldn't do it. That is one of my set in stone food rules and so far I've been able to make it work, though if I have to cut my budget back anymore I may sadly have to give into the lower prices. I am just going to have to double down on my menu planning and really start sticking to what we *need* at the store and forgo the impulse buys (I have been getting better at that).

Whole Foods

3 Organic Kiwi @ .69 each
3.06 lb Organic Pears $8.23 (Stop and Shop had non-organic for $1.49/lb but the quality is terrible)
Backyard Farms Tomatoes $3.99 (these looked so delicious I had to buy them)
1.75 lb Empire Apples $2.26
3 lb Bag Yellow Onion $1.99
365 Organic Graham Crackers $3.99
365 Organic Ketchup $1.99
365 Organic Baked Beans $1.49
365 Garlic Granules $2.49
365 Organic Pasta Sauce $2.29

3.94 lb Air Chilled Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast $15.76 ($3.99/lb)
$5 Donation to the Whole Planet Fund

Less $10 rebate card (got from buying something last year)

Total: $73.43 ($68.43 will go towards my grocery budget)

Stop and Shop

Applegate Hot Dogs $3.99 - $1 MC = $2.99
Nature's Promise Chicken Sausage $3.32 (meat markdown from $5.76, antibiotic free)
Nature's Promise Chicken $7.93 ($1.49/lb, antibiotic free)
Stop and Shop Unbleached Flour $2.87 (I didn't need this because I had 2 bags at home- grrrr)

Total: $17.11

Shaws

5 lb Clementines $4.77
(2) 1 lb Containers Strawberries @ $2.50 each
.47 lb Asparagus .70
Amy's Frozen Pizza $4.99 (gmo free)

Total: $16.95

My budget for the next two weeks (my husband get paid bi-weekly and I get paid weekly) is $200. So far I have spent a total of $102.49 which leaves me $97.51 plus a $10 rebate card. I may even be able to spend less than that because we have enough meat to last up for a bit- we shall see!
