Menu Plan Monday

Back into Menu Planning I go! Since becoming gluten and dairy free last week due to health issues I have realized that I am going to need to plan out what I make for dinner to ensure that I still eat balanced meals while avoiding gluten and dairy.

Here we go...

Turkey and Gravy Sandwiches (used gluten free organic gravy)
Homemade White Bread (for my husband and kids)
Brown Rice (for myself)
Fruit (for the kids)

Turkey Noodle Soup with Carrots and Celery (for my husband and kids)
Turkey and Brown Rice Soup with Carrots and Celery (for myself)
Crescent Rolls (Immaculate Baking Company- gmo free, for my husband and kids)
Fruit (for the kids)

Salsa Chicken (chicken breast cooked with a jar of salsa in the Crock Pot- yum!)
Flour Tortillas (for my husband and kids)
Brown Rice
Fruit for the kids

Beef Stew (recipe is from Cook's Illustrated- best I have ever had)
Homemade Italian Bread (for my husband and kids)
Fruit for the kids

Pasta (regular for my husband and kids and quinoa for myself)
Meatballs (will be dairy free and I'll use homemade gluten free bread to make the bread crumbs)
Mixed Veggies
Fruit for the kids

Tacos with Lettuce, Tomatoes and Cheese for toppings (no cheese for me)
Corn Taco Shells (gluten free) and Flour Tortillas
Fruit for the kids

Homemade Pizza with Nitrate Free Pepperoni
I'll make myself a gluten free crust and top it with sauce, pepperoni and veggies (no cheese)
Fruit for the kids

I am participating in I'm and Organizing Junkie's Menu Plan Monday.

  1. Welcome to Menu Plan Monday! I'm a newbie myself and just started participating in the link party about a month ago.
I can totally relate to needing to meal plan once you have dietary restrictions. When I was nursing my son, I had to go off dairy and soy for several months. I was amazed how many foods have hidden dairy and soy! I HAD to plan every meal since I couldn't order pizza or Chinese in a pinch. I also started making a lot from scratch and haven't gone back.
I hope that eliminating those foods from your diet will improve your health. :)

  2. Thanks for stopping by! I had to stop eating dairy with all three of my kids and know what you mean about feeling like it was hidden in everything! I have been feeling a lot better since eliminating dairy and gluten and am really hoping that getting back into menu planning will keep me from spending too much at the grocery store. And speaking of Chinese food- I am really going to miss having egg rolls, lol. Maybe I can find a gluten free recipe :)
