I didn't have the kids with me because they were visiting my mom so I had more time to roam the store and I think I spent a bit more than I would have if I wasn't alone. The Glade Reed Diffusers were an impulse buy but at $2.25 each how could I say no?

So about the chickens; they were a great deal (ended up being about .60 a pound) and are all in my chest freezer as I sit here and write. For that great deal, though, I contaminated my favorite shoes with Salmonella germs.

One of the chickens had a whole in the wrapping and when I was carrying it in it must have tipped upside down so all of the leaking juice poured out of the wrapping, out of the plastic meat bag and out of the plastic shopping bag which (of course) had a whole in it. I was standing right inside my front door and felt liquid pouring onto my leg and feet and realized that chicken juice was everywhere. After cleaning up the mess (a big puddle on the front steps, a juice saturated rug, random drops of nastiness and my poor pants) I looked at my shoes. How would someone go about cleaning chicken juice off of a pair of suede shoes?

These are my favorite shoes. They are from J Crew (I got them on clearance) and I have had them for years and will be very upset if a stupid uber cheap chicken wrecked them. Grrrr...
