Why I Have A Toy Closet

I found out last minute that my son is going to a birthday party tomorrow with my mother in law. A normal person would have to run out to the store to buy a gift.

I am not normal.

Off to my toy closet I went to find a gift for a four year old girl and after looking through my selection I picked out this Play Doh set that I got really cheap at Target awhile back. The wrapping paper was something that I already had laying around.

I made the bow with leftover wrapping paper and the card was free at CVS a long time ago. Cute gift with little money out of pocket and no stress of having to run to the store- works for me!

I really like having toys on hand for moments like this and to make the holidays less stressful but I in no way condone giving people gifts just because they are cheap or because I have them on hand. I am lucky to have a wide selection of things that I have purchased on clearance so I can usually find something that the giftee will like. If I don't have something that fits the bill I will go out and buy something. Nothing is more tacky than giving someone a gift you know they won't like or that you just gave them because it was uber cheap. A little thought goes a long way.
