Frugal Tip: Newspapers!

Newspapers B&W (5)

We rarely use paper towels in my house; the only times I would actually use them was when I would clean windows or mirrors because rags never seemed to do a great job. The mirrors/windows would always have lint and look streaky.

In an effort to cut back on my already minimal paper towel use I decided to look no further than our daily newspaper delivery. You see, newspaper is an excellent way to clean the glass in your life. Just spray the glass surface with cleaner (I use Biokleen All Purpose Cleaner diluted with water in a spray bottle) and wipe with a crumpled up newspaper ball. I know it seems crazy, but for some reason the ink from the newspaper doesn't come off and streak on the glass. I don't ask questions, I just go with it.

This method, in my opinion, works way better than paper towels- which goes to show that being frugal doesn't mean you have to compromise quality. Yeah for cleaning with stuff you were just going to throw away!
